Meteorologist Associate, Telemundo 51 Miami

The News associate program is a fast-track 18–24 month opportunity to learn the skills required to be a successful Meteorologist. The Meteorologist Associate will be trained to become a Weather Anchor, which will be reporting and covering weather related news. This position will support the weather team and assists in the creation of weather graphics and augmented reality (AR) story telling concept. We are looking for a Meteorologist to anchor and produce weather segments across all content platforms, including on-air and the station’s website. Essential Functions/Responsibilities Gather and prepare weather information for on-air presentation in the local & regional newscasts and special reports outside of regularly scheduled newscasts. Provide creative ideas to showcase the weather segment in an informative and compelling manner. Employ strategy and engagement in social media and streaming including sending severe weather alerts/warnings. Provide input to newscast producers relating to the weather segments. Will need to be available to report for all severe weather situations.
