NBCUniversal is hiring a Senior Manager of Merchandising Operations to join the team responsible for building and publishing TV series, movies and custom content across the Direct-to-Consumer service and other digital streaming products. We are seeking a cool-headed, detail-obsessed team member who is adept at managing the ebb and flow of a massive digital library in a fast-evolving industry and can be a Swiss Army Knife to support the team. The Merchandising Operations team is tasked with ensuring the readiness of the streaming library by managing the artwork, metadata and related assets that power the streaming library, including alternative and custom assets used in audience segmentation and multi-variate testing. It is a 24/7 operation responsible for updating content based on performance, programming tactics and events unfolding in real time, working in coordination with the Product, Marketing, and Customer Support teams in addition to other stakeholders. Additionally, this role will be involved in key initiatives involving product enhancements, metadata optimization and feature expansions that keep Peacock evolving and current in the streaming landscape. The successful candidate for this role will bring hands-on experience managing complex publishing projects, an aptitude with a variety of content management systems or computer programs, and a sense of personal responsibility for the accuracy of their work while multi-tasking multiple projects that cover a variety of operating procedures and systems. To excel in this role, you must be able to set and meet deadlines for publishing large volumes of content, communicate fluently with the teams throughout the company, and consistently strive to improve workflows and processes. Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day operations of the team, providing assistance and guidance when necessary Assist in the shaping of team policies and workflows to ensure optimization, efficiency, and the highest quality user experience Responsible for feature functionality testing the editorial curation of the overall user experience on Peacock, prioritizing customer value, business growth, and strategic opportunities. Liaison between Metadata QA, Editorial, Product, Data and Decision Science teams, and other stakeholders to ensure experimental and evergreen metadata enhancements account for impact and opportunities across all teams, managing processes and updates to ensure success end-to-end Ideate and collaborate on new product enhancements by defining requirements, advising on operational implementation, testing upon release, and troubleshooting bugs and functionality gaps to successfully deliver products to market Audit feature releases from Product and Video Operations, often catching or correcting for errors that involve long-term manual solutions until enhancements can be released Review metadata and imagery pipeline, advise the Product and Tech teams on optimization, and helm the implementation of enhancements across the platform Manually maintain imagery across the platform to ensure art is up to date and badging provides the best possible user experience Support a 24/7 operation responsible for updating content based on performance, programming tactics and events unfolding in real time, working in coordination with the Video Operations, Product, Marketing, Technology, and Customer Support teams in addition to other stakeholders Provide additional support for tentpole initiatives including high profile content launches, breaking news events, and marquee sporting events Review data to evaluate on platform performance Attend weekly Product and Tech workstream meetings as Editorial representatives speaking on upcoming changes, enhancements, features, and issues Evaluate incidents to identify immediate solutions and work with the Impact team to escalate issues to the proper departments if necessary
