“What would you say you do here?” The Hair Global Development Group is responsible for Hair Template, Workflow and Tool Ownership across departments and shows. This group establishes consistency, efficiency, ownership, and support in the grooming and simulation process. The goal of the Hair Global Developer internship will be to introduce candidates to the studio setting and involve them in development of tools for hair, fur and feathers across production on DreamWorks feature films.

The intern will work closely with departmental representatives on various tasks, including project research, script coverage, writers lists and competitive tracking.

“What would you say you do here?” The Character Effects department at DreamWorks Animation is responsible for both the set up and shot simulation of cloth, fur, hair, foliage, feathers, props, and other simulations as necessary on various projects. The Character Effects Production Development team oversees and maintains the common CFX workflows and tools used by all productions, with members specializing in artistry, engineering, and pipeline.

“What would you say you do here?” Works closely with CG Supervisor and Lead Lighter to achieve the visual target for assigned shots or lighting tasks and address all lighting notes. Responsible for taking shots to completion. Works well with others and fosters a good working atmosphere. Troubleshoots creative and technical issues as they arise. As needed, organizes and documents any lighting tools, scripts, or processes. Collaborates with other departments for timely integration of elements into assigned shots. Manages individual shot load based on the schedule to meet timelines.

"What would you say you do here?” A Production Intern will be assigned to either a feature film or animated television show and gain insight into production responsibilities, workflows and processes. Additionally, they will be able to observe and learn about the animation pipeline and creative process. Production Interns handle various production activities under the direction of their Production Manager. Interns will help to take on new challenges in efforts to gain a more detailed knowledge of the animation industry, animated television or feature pipeline and workflows.

“What would you say you do here?” Intern will draft professional emails, reports and corporate communication materials that clearly and effectively communicate information to an internal audience. Intern will gain a broad knowledge of remote and live event planning including employee morale and mixer events, premieres and wraps, friends and family events, holiday events, and more. Intern will also support the studio's volunteer and community outreach programs (non-profit, educational, and hospital partnerships, to name a few).

"What would you say you do here?” As a DreamWorks Data Center Operations Intern, you may work in one of the following areas: Coordinating the repair of computer equipment with vendors. Assisting with the installation of computer equipment, servers, storage systems, evaluation equipment, networking switches/routers, and other data center equipment. Handling the mechanical installation of computer equipment, including installation of mounting rails, wire management, rack power, etc. Assisting with computer upgrades (hardware and software) and kickstarts.
