Manager, Global Finance Operations - Record to Report (R2R)
Role Purpose: Global Finance Operations (GFO) is NBCU’s centralized shared service organization providing various finance and accounting services across the Business Units within NBCU. GFO is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of the Record to Report (R2R) Manager. This manager role will be responsible for the delivery of the R2R functions including general ledger accounting, monthly close activities, asset accounting, account reconciliations and other various processes performed by both onshore and offshore teams. Additionally, ensuring the offshore team performance complies with SLAs, providing excellent customer service to the business units (act as a first point of contact) and driving efficiency through continuous improvement within a shared service model. The R2R Manager will manage a team of accountants, coordinate with the Business Unit stakeholders, and maintain efficient accounting processes to support the business operations effectively. The R2R Manager also plays a key role in implementing process improvements, integrating new systems and participating in company-wide transformation initiatives. Responsibilities: Closely manage the day-to-day operations performed by offshore teams; provide analytics to key business stakeholders for decision making; provide support on both statutory and US financial audits and requests from external and internal operational audits. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of the overall monthly close activities as performed by both the on-shore and off-shore teams. Mentor and train offshore team members, fostering a “One-Team” collaborative culture with focus on continuous learning, development, and professional growth. Provide excellent customer service to business stakeholders including addressing and resolving queries escalated by both on & offshore teams in a timely manner with a partnership mindset. Serves as business partner by maintaining in-depth knowledge of the industry and accounting policies & principles. Review monthly metrics with offshore team and business stakeholders, to improve processes and resolve issues. Work alongside R2R Global Process Owner to drive forward transformation initiatives. Manage the transition of new processes from business units into Global Finance Operations via robust governance and documented standard operating procedures. Collaborate within and across organization on key company-wide initiatives and to support the Finance transformation roadmap (people, process, technology). Research US GAAP as it relates to significant matters and provide accounting guidance to ensure compliance with US GAAP. Manage all applicable SOX documentation, compliance and providing audit support to both internal and external auditors. Identifying areas of control risk. Ensure that adequate and effective system of internal controls is maintained for reporting and analysis. Support departmental strategic objectives. Other duties and special projects as needed.
